As 250 years have passed since the founding of the United States in 1776, we mark this Independence Day holiday with a special conversation with Siouxlanders.

When the nation was founded in 1776 with the Declaration of Independence, and then the U.S. Constitution a few years later, there was a goal to put in place the ideals of freedom, liberty, equality and the encouragement to speak up for individual rights.

This show includes the input from seven people, to hear their opinions on what the promise of America was and if it was carried out. They relate what was happening when the colonists broke away from Great Britain, share key people and points in history, and debate if the American promise is accessible by all.

The people include Robert Fee, Morgan Sexton, Karter Edwardson, Trisha Rivers, Don Duzik, Serkan and Marina.

The people also discuss what this 250th holiday represents and how they may spend the Fourth of July.
