South Sioux City officials continue work this summer on a series of parks and recreation projects as a response to flooding damage.

During the South Sioux City council meeting on Monday, some changes in the previously contracted amounts were approved.

The project for campground improvements at the Scenic Park recreational vehicle campground along the Missouri River had a reduced cost by more than $80,000, which dropped the total to just under $553,000.

Additionally, the cost to address needs at the Dible Park soccer and baseball fields rose slightly to $2.1 million. That project is now substantially completed, about two years after Missouri River flooding.

Also in the meeting, the South Sioux City Council members began discussion towards changes regarding service animals being used by people at the public library.
