Two Democrats who live in Woodbury County are now candidates for the Iowa House District 1 seat.
Democrat Kenny Kroll was previously reported as a candidate, and Shawn Olorundami filed his nomination papers on Tuesday.
Olorundami is a school teacher. who said he wants to return Iowa from recent actions where people are being divided in culture wars, and also have the economy see rising wages.
Iowa House District 1 is being vacated at the end of the year by Democratic representative J.D. Scholten, of Sioux City.
In Iowa, candidates running for state or federal office must file by March 13, and those seeking county office must do that by March 20.
