Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced Thursday evening that she is endorsing Ashley Hinson for U.S. Senate.
Reynolds and Hinson made the announcement at the Sioux City Orpheum Theater.
Republican Ashley Hinson currently serves as U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 2nd congressional district.
She announced her candidacy for the U.S. Senate in September shortly after Senator Joni Ernst said she would not seek a third term.
Other people who have endorsed Ashley Hinson include Senator Joni Ernst, President Donald Trump, and Iowa Representative Zach Nunn.
Hinson is running against fellow Republican Jim Carlin, a former state legislator from Sioux City.
Candidates from the Democratic Party are Bob Krause, Nathan Sage, Josh Turek, and Zach Wahls.
