A judge has ruled against a Sioux City man, who was arrested after spray painting flowers on many manhole covers, to have his charges dropped.

The motion to dismiss charges by Brandon Bradshaw was denied, KTIV News first reported.

Bradshaw was arrested in November for criminal mischief, after being found carrying a bag with eight cans of spray paint and other painting supplies.

In a hearing earlier in January, Bradshaw said he didn’t mean to break the law and that painting approximately 10 flowers in the Morningside area was done so people could have a better day.

Since Bradshaw's arrest, he has received support from the community, with people sharing an online petition requesting charges to be dropped. People in the town of Sac City, Iowa, showed support by starting a manhole art contest.
