On The Exchange this week, we speak with three of the nine candidates for the Sioux City City Council primary that's coming up on October 10th. Today we talk with incumbent Alex Watters, who was appointed last year to take over the seat of council person Keith Radig. Radig was elected to the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors. We also hear from challengers Doug Waples and Brett Watchorn. Next week, we talk with the remaining six contenders. Also we speak with journalist and author Ted Wheeler about his new book, "Kings of Broken Things," about the 1919 race riot and lynching that took place in downtown Omaha, and those events shaped the city. And we hear from National Endowment for the Arts Heritage Fellow Dwight Lamb. Lamb is a master of the Danish according and of Missouri-style fiddling. He is know for helping to keep the culture of those of instruments alive. We spoke with Dwight and heard him play some of his music this summer.
