President Donald Trump’s trip to Iowa to celebrate his administration’s approval of the year-round sale of the E15 ethanol blend was met yesterday with cheers from Iowa Republicans.
Iowa Democrats provided a more measured response, pointing to the ongoing tariff war with China.
Trump toured a Council Bluffs ethanol plant yesterday then attended a state party fundraiser in Des Moines. At the ethanol plant, Trump highlighted his administration’s move to clear the E15 ethanol blend for year-round sale. Previously, E15 could not be sold during the summer months because of concerns over its environmental impact during warm weather.
The Le Mars-based maker of Blue Bunny Ice Cream today unveiled year-long renovations made to its ice cream parlor. Wells Enterprises celebrated its grand reopening alongside Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.
They’ve been working to remodel the parlor and make it more interactive for tourists. The parlor currently serves around 240-thousand people annually, but company C-E-O Mike Wells says he hopes they can double that.
