Kris Lager Band is always a big draw and they are in South Sioux City for Cardinal Festival Days, also Jon Wayne brings his band, The Pain to the Downtown Live Stage to kick off a summer of Friday night show by the Sioux City Public Museum. You screaming for ice cream? Le Mars has you covered, it's Ice Cream Days, you know. Plus there's loads of theater going on and the Hard Rock teams up with the Sioux City Conservatory of Music.

Coming up this week on The Exchange, Sears, a lynchpin of the Siouxland retail economy is leaving after 90 years, perhaps because it failed to keep up with the times.

Abraham Lincoln took office as the 16th president of the United States on March 4, 1861.  

The next month, the first shots of the Civil War sounded at Fort Sumter in South Carolina.  

The community of Spencer, Iowa is remembering the veterans of this deadly conflict.  

“This new exhibit it’s called “Boys in Blue, Grand Army of the Republic,” said Stephanie Horsley.  

Walking into a wing of the Clay County Heritage Center transports you to a time of turmoil for the United States starting in April of 1861.
