The major party nominees for the Iowa 4th congressional district contest will debate issues in Sioux City on Wednesday evening.
Those discussing the issues will be Democrat Dave Dawson and Republican Chris McGowan.
That event will be held for an hour length at 7 p.m. at KTIV studios in Sioux City, which is the largest city in the 36 counties of the 4th District.
Candidates have been telling Siouxland Public Media News that voters are seeing data centers, inflation, health care, education, and taxes as key issues.
Both candidates live in Woodbury County, as Dawson is an attorney who lives in Lawton, and McGowan today is finishing his long stint as President of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce. It appeared this will be the sole debate of their race in 2026.
Measured by voter registrations, the 4th District is the most heavily Republican in the state. The position is currently held through December by Republican Randy Feenstra, who this year unsuccessfully ran for the Iowa governor post.
