Kristie McManamy is the new President and CEO of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce and two other affiliated organizations.

On Thursday, the boards of directors of the chamber, The Siouxland Initiative, and the Siouxland Chamber Foundation announced hiring McManamy, effective on October 1.

Most recently, she has served as the Director of Marketing for the Siouxland Chamber.

She succeeds Chris McGowan, who is running for elective office, and who earlier this year announced he would be departing the organization after 23 years.

Casey Mills, Board Chairman of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce, in a release said, “Kristie has a strong background in strategic communication and community advocacy, but we were particularly drawn to her passion and vision for what the Chamber and Siouxland could be.”

McManamy spent 12 years as Director of Communications and Recruitment for United Real Estate Solutions, plus worked for more than two decades in broadcast journalism, including as an Emmy Award-winning evening anchor at KTIV in Sioux City.

She said, “I look forward to partnering with our more than 1,200 members, elected officials, and other local leaders to find new opportunities to create a thriving business community for generations to come.”
