After taking two big jumps the second and third weeks of September, Iowa unleaded gas prices dropped over the final week, to finish the month at $4.23 per gallon.
Also this month, diesel fuel prices reached a historic high approaching $7, but have trickled back down in Iowa to sit at $6.13 per gallon on September 30.
By comparison, diesel prices in Iowa were $3.50 one year ago.
The current average unleaded price in Iowa of $4.23 resulted after the weekly drop of 11 cents. The average national average price is $4.43.
