Kolby DeWitt, of Sioux City, has been unanimously selected by the Woodbury County Republican Party as the nominee for the Woodbury Countty Board of Supervisors District 4 position.
Two of the county suipervisors positions will be decided by voters in November.
"I am eager to spread my message and platform of continuing the momentum of the current common-sense conservative board, exploring new forms of energy and efficiency, and continuing and emboldening a culture of excellence among county staff, and more," DeWitt said.
The action was taken Saturday, via a special convention to fill out the slate of Republicans running for county office.
District 4 is currently represented by Matthew Ung, but he is not seeking reelection.
The Democratic opponent for DeWitt in District 4 is Brittney Wilson.
DeWitt lives in Sioux City and works as Outreach Director for U.S. Senator Joni Ernst.
The District 2 county supervisor contest people on the fall ballot are Republican incumbent Dan Bittinger nand Democrat Jody House.
The suipervisors in Districts 1, 3 and 5 are not on the ballot in 2026.
A special nominating convention is a process used by political parties to place candidates on an election ballot when a vacancy occurs or if a seat lacks representation following a filing period.
