The Sioux City School Board will hold a special meeting Tuesday afternoon with the intention of selecting the next school district superintendent.

Last week, three finalist candidates were part of community forums and closed interviews with board members.

The Tuesday meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the downtown Sioux City School District headquarters. The agenda says that once the closed session is over, the board members could name the choice and then begin negotiations towards finalizing a contract with the person.

The three candidates are Tim Miller, Will Pickens III, and current interim superintendent Jim Vanderloo.

Miller serves as executive director of the Uvalde (Texas) Moving Forward Foundation.

Pickens deputy chief of schools for Chicago Public Schools.
