Northwest Iowa Congressman Randy Feenstra has turned in paperwork to get on the primary election ballot for the governor’s race.
The Republican says he’s collected more than 7,500 signatures from all of Iowa’s 99 counties.
Feenstra says he wants to make Iowa the most friendly state for business and agriculture.
Republican candidate Brad Sherman has also already turned in his required signatures to be on the Republican ballot for the primary contest on June 2nd.
Adam Steen, Eddie Andrews and Zach Lahn are also campaigning to be the Republican nominee for governor.
Later on Monday, the team of Democratic candidate Rob Sand in a release said he had submitted a record-breaking 24,756 petition signatures, for the most in Iowa election history.
Feenstra outraised all of the other Republican candidates last year. That’s according to campaign finance reports.
Republican Governor Kim Reynolds is not seeking re-election in 2026.
