In the Le Mars runoff election, incumbent Rob Bixenman and City Council candidate Derek Conyers won their respective races for mayor and city council Tuesday evening. A runoff election occurs when the first election did not reach the required number of votes for a candidate to win.

According to the unofficial results, Bixenman led the mayoral race with 1,013 votes, while Conyers secured his city council seat with 1,183 votes, both out of 1,972 votes. This win will mark Bixenman’s third term as mayor; he was first elected in 2021.

Bixenman’s opponent, Brian Hughes, had 935, while Conyers' challenger, Beth Meyer, had 767.

Meanwhile, in Orange City, Andrew Bloemendaal and Mark Scallon won their city council seats in the runoff election.
