The Woodbury County LEC Authority talked about soundproofing issues in the jury rooms in their meeting Tuesday.
Workers found that the soundproof installation was missing when they were installing doors at the LEC in July.
Shane Albrecht, project manager with Baker Group, said that some work was completed in late September to mitigate the noise going into the jury rooms.
Albrechet confirmed that insulation was put in place around the doors and outlets.
He noted while he can hear people talking, he couldn’t understand what they were saying. However, he mentioned that work still needs to be done on the other door, where he could hear people talking clearly.
Albretch also mentioned there were other issues that needed to be addressed: the walls need to be repainted, the carpet needs to be taken out so it can be refloated, and the boilers need work.
