Sioux City East High School commemorates 100th year

The oldest public high school system in Sioux City is marking a 100th anniversary this week, amid East High School homecoming activities.

Sioux City School District officials have set events through Saturday related to the 100 years. There will be food trucks before the football game Friday evening at Olsen Stadium.

On Saturday, school tours will run from 8 to 11 a.m. at East High School, then a 100-year all school reunion will be held in the evening at the Sergeant Bluff Rec Center.

West and North High Schools were created in 1972, after the closures of Leeds and Central high schools.
