As cases of COVID-19 increase in Woodbury County, the head of the Sioux City Community School Districts wants the option to issue temporary mask mandates in order to keep schools open.
The most recent COVID-19 trend report showed 300 staff and students tested positive for the virus.
The mask requirement would be for individual schools. The emergency protocol would kick in after a certain percentage of students and staff contract COVID-19.
