There are five positions on the Sioux City School Board, and 11 candidates are vying to be selected by voters in the November 7 election. Siouxland Public Media News has spoken with all 11 people and is presenting a series in which the candidates discuss three subject areas.

In the second of those subject areas, the candidates addressed topics related to diversity.

Does celebrating diversity in terms of the gender/sexuality/race of district students need to be expanded, or reined in?

Do you have concerns on whether teachers are airing topics in appropriate ways at appropriate grade levels?
