Protests across the nation have broken out against I.C.E. over the weekend. Today five people protested outside of the Sioux City I.C.E office.
Drivers honked in support and shouted from their windows, adding presence to the small group of protesters.
Zayden Reffitt from the activist group Bitches Get Stuff Done told Siouxland Public Media, “So for me when this particular issue came about, I think of just my Christian values and just think of just being kind to people. And that’s not what’s happening here, people are being deported, people are being wrongfully arrested, people are being beaten and it’s just not okay.“
County jails throughout the region have listed inmates on ICE or Federal hold.
