The summer members of Girls Inc. took part in the Siouxland Media Lab to get a feel for the world of broadcasting.

In this occasion, Tina flew solo and had the opportunity to tour a local television and talk to one of Sioux City’s most popular news anchors, Larry Wentz.  Larry talked about his career, memorable stories and even his favorite music.  Usually, he’s the one doing the interview.

Special thanks to Siouxland Public Media’s Jorge Quezada for helping produce this segment and for leading the Siouxland Media Lab project.

We talk with 4th district democratic candidate JD Scholten about his second try at winning the race against veteran

This summer members of Girls Inc. are learning the “ins and outs” of radio broadcasting and reporting through the Siouxland Media Lab with Siouxland Public Media.

Three of the young ladies taking part in the program recently traveled to R.E. Scott Company in Sioux City to talk to owner Bob Scott who also happens to be the Mayor of Sioux City.

They asked him questions about his position and a few personal questions (only they could get away with).

As we remember the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, Siouxland Public Media helped produce a special segment with members of Girls Inc.

Throughout the summer a group of young ladies are learning about reporting and radio through the Siouxland Media Lab.

Three of the girls spent time at the Center for Active Generations in Siouxland to talk to seniors as they remember and reflect on this half-century milestone.
