March for Our Lives Sioux City

On June 11, 2022, a march is taking place in downtown Sioux City to bring awareness and support for gun violence prevention. This show of solidarity is also taking place across the state and nation. The local Co-Founder of Sioux City’s Chapter of “March for Our Lives” Estella Ruhrer-Johnson talked to Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer about the event, the group's history, and more. Ruhrer-Johnson also serves as the Equity and Diversity Director for the state organization. The march starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 1 p.m. People who attend are encouraged to wear orange, the color that is worn to honor victims of gun violence.
