City of South Sioux City officials are aiming to create a substantial addition to the Crystal Cove Park.The work would build a park observation deck and boardwalk, at an estimated cost of $1.2 million, according to a city memo.
City Manager Lance Hedquist said there is sufficient room for those new pieces.
The South Sioux City Council on Monday approved applying for two large grants that would combine to cover $1.1 million in costs.
If those grants don’t come in, it is possible the city will reduce the scope of the Crystal Cove project.
Crystal Cove Park is located in the areas of West 39th Street in South Sioux City.
