Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds will hold a public event Thursday in Northwest Iowa.

At 2 p.m., Reynolds will tour Lopez Foods in Cherokee, which produces poultry, pork and beef products for supermarkets and restaurants.

And later on Thursday in Sioux Center, Reynolds will be honored at a Republican Party event, as she heads towards ending her term in less than four months.

Reynolds last year announced she would not seek re-election, setting off a large number of Republicans seeking that post. The two major party nominees running for the Iowa governor position on the November ballot are Republican Zach Lahn and Democrat Rob Sand.
