There will be two high-profile debates held in Sioux City by mid-October, as the two major party nominees for the Iowa governor race will take part.
A live debate will air from the KTIV studios on October 14, the station announced on Thursday. The participants will be Republican Zach Lahn and Democrat Rob Sand.
Sand and Lahn will also hold a total of four debates. The others will be in Davenport on October 6, Des Moines on October 21 and in Cedar Rapids on Oct. 27.
That makes for a Lahn-Sand debate in each of the four weeks of October.
Concerning the Iowa 4th congressional district race, it appears there may be only one congressional race debate between Democrat Dave Dawson and Republican Chris McGowan.
That event will be held at KTIV studios in Sioux City on September 30.
Voter registration totals in Iowa show more people are registered for the Republican Party. There are almost 712,000 registered Republicans and about 530,000 Democrats.
