Early voting in the Iowa primary election has been limited.

Early voting via mail and in person at county offices in the 99 counties has been in small numbers over the three weeks that is possible.

In Woodbury County, 404 people have voted in person and 1,327 by mail through Tuesday..

In Buena Vista County, 45 people requested early ballots and 28 have been returned. Eighty-six people have voted in person.

BV County Elections Deputy Karla Ahrendsen on Wednesday said primaries are historically low-turnout elections.

In Dickinson County, a combined 403 people have voted.
