The Sioux City Council will discuss approving the FY2027 operating budget and FY27-31 CIP budget in its meeting Monday.

According to a city memo, the operating budget proposes a tax levy of $15.51 per $1,000 of taxable valuation, which is a reduction from the $17.11 per $1,000. The memo says the property taxes generated for FY27 will equal about $62,300,000.

Additionally, the CIP budget will include projects that will cost millions of dollars over the next five years.

Projects included completing the wastewater treatment plant at $170 million, updating Sioux Gateway Airport at $111 million, and repairs to the Sioux City Auditorium at $1 million.

Last week the Sioux City School District finalized their budget, and the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors is expected to approve theirs next week.
