New federal campaign finance filings show Republican U-S Senate candidate Ashley Hinson raised the most money in the first quarter of this year.

Reports from the Federal Elections Commission show Hinson raised more than $2.3 million during the first three months of 2026. That’s significantly higher than her Republican challenger Jim Carlin, of Sioux City, who raised about $47,000.

Hinson also raised more than the two Democratic candidates raised. Reports show Zach Wahls and Josh Turek raised about $1.1 million each during the first quarter.

Hinson also continues to have the most cash on hand reporting $6.5 million in the bank, as of March 31.

She is followed by Wahls who has just over $1 million, then Turek who has about $750,000. Carlin has about $14,000 cash on hand.
