Three finalists have been announced for the vacant president position at Western Iowa Tech Community College.
Those three people will be interviewed over three days next week on the main WITCC campus in Sioux City, according to a summary by a college search committee member on Wednesday.
Those three were pinpointed after the committee worked through 30 applicants in recent weeks. The process of selecting a new college president began in December, after the retirement of Terry Murrell was announced as this academic year began..
The interview for Michelle Allmendinger will be held April 8, 2026, followed by Terry Gaalswyk on April 9, and Terry Lindsay on April 10.
Allmendinger has 20 years of work in higher education, and currently serves as the Vice President of Student Affairs at Southeastern Community College, in Burlington, Iowa.
Gaalswyk is President of Minnesota West Community & Technical College, and previously held an academic role at WITCC.
Lindsay has 32 years of experience in higher education, and has been the Vice President for Student Affairs at Albany State University in Albany, Georgia, for nearly six years.
The interview schedule includes times for various groups to meet the candidates, plus two open forums for anyone who wants to participate.
The sessions are for WITCC employees, students, and the public. There will be a Zoom webinar for people to participate remotely.
