The Stockwell engineers provided an update on the Northshore Drive reconstruction project on Tuesday.
The reconstruction project will replace the roadway and sidewalks along Northshore Drive in North Sioux City and be completed in phases.
According to the update, the first phase of the project is set to begin April 1, focusing on the east part of Northshore Drive; it is expected to be completed on June 29.
A detour route will be available to residents starting April 1 until phases one and two are completed or they are otherwise notified. Creating a temporary path is one of the first priorities so residents can access the site.
Other projects North Sioux is working on are the McCook grading project and the Northshore realignment project.
In June 2024, a flooding event severely damaged many homes throughout the area and the existing Northshore Drive.
