The Sioux Honey Association announced Monday it has found a location for its expansion project.
The expansion project will be located at 2501 Expedition Court in Sioux City. The project will be completed in three phases over several years beginning in January 2027.
Phase one will include warehouse improvements, new racking, and renovation of office space.
Phase two will include the construction of a new processing facility and laboratory next to the warehouse and offices.
Phase three will include construction of a new raw honey warehouse to support membership growth.
Once all the phases are completed, Sioux Honey expects to add 39 jobs by relocating some California operations to the Sioux City area.
Back in December and January, the Sioux City Council approved a financial assistance application submission, contracts, and changes to the Donner Park Urban Renewal Plan to move the project forward.
