During Thursday’s legislative session, Nebraska State Auditor Mike Foley said he turned in documents connected to an emergency no-bid contract to officials.
Foley said he gave the attorney general and state patrol files showing suspicious activity in the governor’s office regarding the $2.5 million contract awarded to agricultural tech CEO Julie Bushnell.
In January Floey said by failing to clearly explain why a consulting firm known by Governor Jim Pillen was awarded the contract, the Department of Economic Development broke state law.
He criticized the department for leaving the section blank that explains what emergency warranted the quick contract.
Foley also claimed the department failed to meet legal deadlines and backdated the documents.
