Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig announced Thursday, the Iowa Renewable Fuels Infrastructure program board, approved 108 projects to support and expand biofuel and ethanol use across the state.
The program provides funding for gas stations and convenience stores to install, upgrade, or convert equipment for dispensing higher blends of ethanol and biodiesel.
Approved projects are in 46 counties and total nearly $4.59 million.
“These investments are about making it easier and more affordable for Iowans to choose homegrown fuels at the pump,” said Naig.
Elven projects are receiving grants in five Siouxland counties, including Woodbury, Sioux, and Plymouth County.
The grants range from $1,636.06 to $75,000 and include projects at Cubby’s Inc. in Odebolt, Leeds Food and Fuel in Sioux City, and Murphy Oils USA, Inc. in Storm Lake.
