The colorful flowers painted on manhole covers in Moringinside continues to be on the mind of people in Sioux City.
During the Monday Sioux City Council meeting, Nick Hogan, asked the council members what they were planning to do to remove the flowers from the streets.
A man who painted the covers in recent weeks was arrested last week on a misdemeanor charge.
Mayor Bob Scott responded, saying the city was not going to remove them. He added that plows this winter will sweep away the color when plowing snow.
Scott mentioned the city had received many complaints regarding the flowers.
He said the police didn’t get involved until the complaints were filed.
“It all generated because someone in the news media filed a complaint,” said Scott.
