Shifting to a new program that goes beyond reading, the Sioux City Library is now allowing people to borrow from the Library of Things.
The Library of Things collection includes home improvement tools, yard games, hobby equipment and more.
The goal with the Library of Things is to allow residents to try something new by borrowing it to see if they like it first, before buying it.
Jennifer Delperdang, Circulation Services Manager of the Sioux City Public Library, told Siouxland Public Media that funding for the Library of Things collection came from the Friends of the Sioux City Public Library, through a portion of the proceeds from their annual Book Lovers Book Sale.
People must be 18 years or older, have a library card in good standing, and be a resident of Sioux City to check items out from the Library of Things Collection.
