Last week the Sioux City Police Department investigated a suspected case of murder-suicide. Evidence at the scene showed a husband killed his wife before turning the gun on himself. A spokesperson for the police force

SafePlace Executive Director Robin McGinty

said there were no reports of disturbances involving the couple and added if anyone is experiencing domestic violence they should contact authorities or SafePlace. The organization is formerly known as the Council on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence. Siouxland Public Media's Sheila Brummer reached out to the Executive Director of SafePlace, Robin McGinty, to talk about the issue and help available for victims.
