The Sioux City International Film Festival

The Exchange went live Friday morning at the Sioux City International Film Festival.  Films are being shown on Friday and Saturday at the Promenade Theater on 4th Street.   This year's them is Women in Film.  We talk with a group of women who will discuss women and film on Friday night at the Sioux City Convention Center.  Writer Sarah Nicole Jones, writer, and producer Melissa Blake, and historian and actress Rhiannon Koehler all discuss the history of women in film and how women navigate the world of film and television today.

We talk with filmmakers Bob Celli, director of The Keeper, a film about yearning for connection with a mix of dramatic, suspense and humor.  Also, we sat down with Andrew Paul Howell, director of 83 Days, the true story of the conviction and execution of a 14-year-old African American boy in 1944.

Siouxland Public Media's Sheila Brummer talks with local filmmaker Benji Cotter about his film Rods and Cones.  It explores how many people, all around us, suffer and live with depression.

We also talk with SCIFF Board Members Rick Mullin, Alyssa Feiges and Tyler DeLashmut.
