Iowa Att General Endorses 2020 Presidential Candiate, 5:04

Iowa’s Attorney General has endorsed Montana Gov. Steve Bullock in the 2020 Democratic presidential race.

It makes him the first 2020 candidate to receive the endorsement of a statewide elected official in Iowa.

Attorney General Tom Miller was one of the first Iowa elected officials to endorse Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic presidential caucuses, and he is a longtime friend of the Montana governor's 

People who post pornographic images of others without their permission or use the images for blackmail could face new criminal charges in Nebraska under a bill advanced by lawmakers.

Lawmakers gave the bill first-round approval today.  Nebraska is one of seven states that have not passed a law to crack down on the practice known as "revenge porn," or nonconsensual pornography.

The bill by state Sen. Adam Morfeld, of Lincoln, would allow prosecutors to bring felony charges against perpetrators. 

A South Dakota police officer accused of shooting stray cats is facing criminal charges.

A criminal complaint filed in Union County charges North Sioux City Officer Derek McIntosh with a misdemeanor. Police began investigating McIntosh on May 9 after other officers reported that he had picked up stray cats and shot them in the cemetery instead of taking them to the humane society.

The 79th annual Tulip Festival is underway in Orange City, Iowa.

The community showcases Dutch Heritage with a parade, food, authentic costumes and of course the tulips.  And, this year wasn’t the best for growing the town’s favorite flower.

There are 100,000 tulips in Orange City.  Some still haven’t bloomed yet but could within the next two days.
