We recognize the Days of Remberence of the Victims of the Holocaust, which is, a day of commemoration in Israel for the approximately six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust, and for the many members of the Jewish Resistance.

Buena Vista County

A top health official in northwest Iowa retired on Monday after working more than 23-years with Buena Vista County Public Health and Home Care. Pam Bogue worked first as a nurse and then administrator for the county health department. She previously worked in long-term care facility administration. Bogue talked to Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer about the past year of COVID-19, including mitigation efforts and Tyson Foods.

Buena Vista County is experiencing an outbreak of COVID-19 cases.  As of Tuesday night, the Iowa Department of Public Health reported ten residents have died of the disease.  That's two more than reported earlier in the day when the head of the local health department talked to Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer about positive cases in the county.

Buena Vista County currently sees the highest infection rate of COVID-19 in the state of Iowa. The virus has tested positive in 8% of all residents.
