The Exchange, Wednesday, February 19, and Friday, February 21.

February is Black History month, and we talk with one of the editors of a new book that contains first-person stories and photos of African Americans who were once enslaved.  The interviews were done by writers with the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s.  

Also, a preview of a program at the Sioux City Public Museum this weekend where you can learn everything you need to know about the upcoming 2020 census that takes place April 1st.

The Iowa Caucuses are about a week away and for the past several months the candidates have sought out the support of Siouxlanders.  Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer covered many of these campaign events and found insight from a young, but informed source with aspirations of her own.

Sen. Cory Booker joined Shelby and Ike to discuss his proposed policies as a Democratic candidate* for 

President, policies, he argues, that will bring the country back together. He believes that his appeal to African-Amercian voters makes his candidacy viable and that Hilary Clinton's 2016 loss was partly due to her failure to appeal to the lived experiences of the diverse nature of the Democratic Party. And he describes how his engagement in the African-American community drives his policy.

An investigation is underway after the death of a woman found near Macy on the Omaha Indian Reservation.

The community of Macy held a vigil last night near the field were the body of 29-year-old Ashlea Aldrich was found on Tuesday.

However, authorities have released very little details about her death.  

A former village clerk who was praised for her work in helping rebuild her northeast Nebraska community following a deadly tornado in 2014 has been accused of theft.

Kimberly Neiman was arrested Wednesday at her home in Pilger.

South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg is outpacing the other Democratic Presidential candidates in Iowa, according to a  new Monmouth Poll out today.

Buttigieg garnered 22% support, former Vice President Joe Biden (19%) and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (18%). Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders also made gains from Monmouth's August poll, but with 13%, fell outside of the top three status in Iowa. 

Buttigieg is up 14 percentage points since August, according to a new Monmouth Poll of likely caucus-goers.
