Des Moines Superintendent Ian Roberts is no longer being held at the Woodbury County jail, according to the jail’s online records.

Ian Roberts is resigning from his position as superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools after he was arrested by ICE last week.

There was a protest outside of the Woodbury County Law Enforcement Center on Saturday, in support of Des Moines schools Superintendent Ian Roberts, who was jailed after federal authorities say he is in the country illegally.

The superintendent of the Des Moines school district was detained by federal immigration officials Friday morning.
