The Weather Bosses Say Spring is Springing

I’m Cali, and I’m Chloe, reporting Siouxland Public Media Weather from the Spalding Park Environmental Sciences Elementary School.

Today in Sioux City, expect rain in the morning followed by cloudy skies, with a high of 81 and low around 66. This Saturday will be windy with a high of 78 and low of 40. Sunday will bring wind with a high of 52 and low of 31.

The Iowa Great Lakes will have cloudy skies with occasional rain, highs around 70 and lows around 45.

With spring weather upon us, it is a good time to begin preparing yards and gardens for seed. The spring rains provide the nutrition for the plant and soil. The temperatures stay above freezing overnight which allow the soil to hold moisture.
