Siouxland Public Media Wins Two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards

The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) awarded Siouxland Public Media with two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for Overall Excellence and Writing. Regional winners advance to the national round.  

Among the most prestigious awards in news, the Murrow Awards recognize local and national news stories that uphold the RTDNA Code of Ethics, demonstrate technical expertise and exemplify the importance and impact of journalism as a service to the community.

Since 1971, RTDNA has been honoring outstanding achievements in broadcast and digital journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards. Among the most prestigious in news, the Murrow Awards recognize local and national news stories that uphold the RTDNA Code of Ethics, demonstrate technical expertise and exemplify the importance and impact of journalism as a service to the community. Murrow Award winning work demonstrates the excellence that Edward R. Murrow made a standard for the broadcast news profession.

Siouxland Public Media’s news-gathering mission is to create a more informed public by revealing the issues that affect the everyday lives of our community members and the complexities of life in Siouxland.

Siouxland Public Media is a small NPR affiliate station run independently from a state network. Staff consists of four full-time employees, including two journalists who also serve as on-air hosts. Several volunteers also assist with content and podcasts.
