State incentives could create 32 new jobs in Mason City and construction of a new plant to replace plants destroyed by a July 19th tornado near Pella. State documents say the incentives will help Vermeer Corporation retain 406 employees who were displaced after the tornado."
The Iowa Economic Development Authority OK'd $6 million Friday for the industrial and agricultural equipment manufacturer, which is rebuilding its campus.
Most state economic development programs provide incentives for creating jobs, but emergency provisions let companies to qualify for aid without that requirement.
The authority also approved nearly $233,000 in tax credits for a $62.8 million expansion at Kraft Heinz Foods in Mason City.
The lineup for the Abe Stage for Sioux City's Saturday in the Park celebration was announced today. It includes Reggae singer, rapper and beatboxer Matthew Paul Miller, as well as Claudia Alexandria Feliciano, a San Jose rapper who goes by the name Snow Tha Product.
Other announced performers are Trufeelz, Arson City, Artificial Stars, Brady Raps/Psychedelic Sidekick, Gallivant, Winter Wayfarer and the Sioux City Conservatory of Music.
Saturday in the Park will be held July 6 at Sioux City's Grandview Park.
