These restaurants have long been a staple of Midwestern life. A supper club usually features huge relish trays, a well stocked bar and enough bread and salad to fill you up long before your entrée appears. Author and Minnesota native J. Ryan Stradal latest novel is set in just such a venue, its called Saturday night at the Lakeside Supper Club. It tells the story of a complicated mother daughter relationship in small town Minnesota and the supper club hosts much of the action. I talked with Ryan about his new book.

President of the Friends of the Library Board Anne Cowley (cow-lee) spoke to Siouxland Public Media’s Sheila Brummer about this year’s event. Anne starts by sharing what kind of things people can find at the sale.
