Siouxland Public Media picked up its first National Edward R. Murrow Award this summer. Our intern from last summer, Kayla Mayer, did a special report on food insecurity during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

This week as we kick off the college football season, we talk with the producer of a new documentary about Nile Kinnick, who is from Carroll, Iowa, Scott Siepka.

And we talk with the head of the Iowa High School Association, Tom Keating, about the need for more civility on and off the field. Also we talk with former coach and author Linda Flanagan about the issue. She writes about it in her new book, Take Back the Game.
