The South Dakota Board of Regents announced Wednesday that tuition rates in the state will increase.
The tuition will increase by 2.4 percent; according to the board, the increase supports technology investments, ensures university security, and maintains innovation and academic success.
Tuition will increase for 6 state universities, including the University of South Dakota and South Dakota State University.
Additionally, the board also approved a 5 percent increase for South Dakota School of Mines, “reflecting their expansion and higher demand for experiential, hands-on learning.”
The changes will be made for the 2026-2027 school year.
