The president of Western Iowa Tech Community College had his last day in the role on Thursday.
Dr. Terry Murrell started working at the institution in 2007 and has served as president since 2011.
During his time at WIT, he has expanded student services, strengthened community partnerships, and assisted students in finding opportunity and success.
Murrell first announced his retirement earlier this school year. When he spoke with Siouxland Public Media in September, he said after suffering a personal loss, his priorities changed, but he doesn’t feel like he’s leaving without accomplishments.
Dr. Terry Lindsay will assume the role of president on July 6, 2026. Lindsay has 32 years of experience in higher education.
