The Sioux City School Board held a closed meeting Tuesday afternoon regarding the open superintendent position but did not select a candidate to fill the spot.

The school board was in closed session for about four hours to review the candidates.

A school district release said that after much discussion and evaluation the board could not come to a unanimous vote.

It stated the board will discuss their plans regarding the search at a later meeting.

Last week the school held three forums interviewing candidates Dr. Tim Miller, Dr. Will Pickens III, and interim superintendent Jim Vanderloo for the position.

The search began after Dr. Juan Cordova resigned in March after being on two leaves of absence. Cordova was hired a year ago to replace Rod Earleywine.
