Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota are all under weather advisories from Friday until the end of Saturday.
The three states are under a fire weather watch, red flag warning, or both.
According to the National Weather Service, a fire weather watch is when a combination of warm temperatures, high winds, and very low humidity increases the risk of a fire.
A red flag warning is when critical weather conditions are either occurring now or are about to happen, indicating a high risk of an extreme or uncontrollable fire.
There are 46 Iowa counties under the red flag warning, including Sioux, Dickinson, and Buena Vista counties.
Additionally, 51 counties under the fire weather watch, including Sac, Emmet, and Kossuth counties.
There are multiple burn bans throughout all three states.
